Groundcover
Groundcover plants are used primarily for covering large areas without much maintenace. Groundcover plants have a large variety of flowers and color, they are usually perennial low growing shrubs, ideal to use for hillsides or non-walking areas. Here are some of the most common type of groundcovers sold in flats.

Ajuga
Clump-forming,
densely hairy to almost hairless, evergreen perennial, rhizomatous
but without stolons, and with upright stemps to 16" ling. In
spring, bears spike-like whorls, to 4" tall, of bright flowers.

Armeria
Robust, clump
forming perennial with narrow, inversely lance-shaped to linear,
dark green leaves. to 6" long. In summer, bears white to deep
red-purple flowerheads, on wiry stems. Height 8"-20",

Campanula
Vigorous perennial,
spreading by underground runners, with toothed, rouded to oavate,
mid-green leaves, heart-shaped at the bases. Panicles of star-shaped,
pale lavender flowers, with white centers, are borne from summer

Gazania
Requires sun and
sandy soil. Evergreen perennial grown as annual useful for summer
bedding, pots, and barrels. Produces solitary yellow, white, orange,
pink, or brown daisylike flowers heads on short stems just above

Honeysuckle
